Adsorption dryer deployment
An adsorption dryer is mainly used when the following conditions occur:
A very low relative humidity of less than 35% must be achieved, for example in munitions warehouses and the pharmaceutical and chemical industries;
Work is only carried out at lower temperatures than 8°C, for example in cold storage;
Low temperatures are necessary or climatically present, for example tank coating and ship restoration.

The operation of an adsorption dryer
The adsorption dehumidifier uses the moisture-absorbing ability of substances such as silica gel and lithium chloride. These two substances are impregnated on a rotating ceramic wheel. As a result, the moist air is blown out of the room. The moisture is absorbed by the hygroscopic material contained in the adsorption dehumidifier, resulting in dry air. The adsorption dryer then blows the dry air into the room. With the MDC adsorption dryer, a process takes place over two separate air ducts.
Water quality requirements of the adsorption dehumidifier
Note: Before operating the adsorption dehumidifier, inventory the room and take any measures as necessary. The adsorption dehumidifier should not be used in:
- Environments where particles, gas, smoke and the like may be drawn in due to created negative pressure, which may adversely affect chimneys, furnaces or other similar equipment;
- In areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere;
- In areas with an aggressive atmosphere (caused, for example, by chemicals);
- In areas containing water with a pH lower than 7.0 or higher than 7.4;
- In areas with salt or liquids with a salt content > 1% e.g. salt baths;
- In humid areas of indoor swimming pools;
- In areas with ozone treated air, high solvent concentrations or high dust load.
